FAQ

Common booking questions

Can I book before creating an account?

You can browse the home page first, but reservation requests and current stay details require login.

Why do requests need approval?

Every request is checked for date overlap, group fit, care needs, and the final proposal total before deposit instructions are sent.

How is the deposit handled?

After approval, you receive prepay instructions for a 20% deposit. The admin marks the reservation paid once the deposit is received.

What is considered "Special Care" and how is it charged?

Special Care refers to any request that falls outside our standard daily routine.

Standard routine includes

  • Feeding, up to 3 types of supplements or food combined.
  • Regular walks and playtime.
  • Brushing once every two days before bed.
  • Once-daily cleaning, including wiping tear stains, mouth, paws, and brushing teeth.

Examples of Special Care

  • Medication administration, including scheduled oral medication, topical creams, or eye drops.
  • Specific water requirements, such as strictly separated water sources.
  • Strictly separate feeding due to severe food aggression or pica.
  • Strict limits on water intake or physical activity levels.
  • Specialized hygiene requests, such as wiping tear stains multiple times per day with specific wipes.
  • Feeding that requires more than 3 types of supplements or food components.
  • Charging electronic collars or devices.
  • Strict requirement for two or more outdoor walks of 30+ minutes each for dogs who usually play in the backyard or indoor spaces.
  • Frequent diaper or pee-pad changes, 3+ times per day. This does not apply to puppies because they already pay a $10/day surcharge.
  • Extra brushing and cleaning for long-haired or double-coated dogs during heavy shedding seasons.
  • Any other request exceeding our standard routine.

Rate

Special Care is charged at an additional $5-$25 per day depending on the complexity of care required.

Age-based policies

  • Dogs 10 years old or younger: The initial quote assumes no special care is needed unless the owner mentions it. If special care needs arise during the stay, we will notify the owner of the reason and associated fees.
  • Dogs older than 10 years: If there are no extra needs, owners may request to waive the special care fee. If events requiring special care occur during boarding or daycare, we will notify the owner immediately and apply the corresponding charges.

Special Care surcharges triggered during stay

If any of the following situations occur during boarding, we will contact the owner immediately. These services are classified as Special Care and may incur additional fees.

1. Hygiene and sanitation management

  • In-home soiling with no diapers provided: If indoor elimination habits were not disclosed and no diapers were provided, a surcharge applies after two or more accidents on carpets or indoor floors. Fee: $10/day for diaper management and extra sanitation. This does not apply to puppies because it is covered by the standard puppy surcharge.
  • Off-pad elimination: If pee pads were provided but the dog eliminates outside the designated pad area two or more times, we will switch to diaper management. Fee: $10/day. For puppies, there is no extra fee if the owner provides diapers; $5/day if we provide them.
  • Excessive cleaning and grooming: For dogs that roll in urine or mud, dig or soil paws frequently, or have frequent diarrhea requiring extra cleaning, especially long-haired breeds. Fee: $5-$25/day based on weight and cleaning complexity.
  • Undisclosed heavy shedding: If a dog is in a peak shedding cycle that was not disclosed and frequent brushing is needed to maintain hygiene, a cleaning surcharge will apply and may be higher than the standard pre-disclosed rate.

2. Nutritional and feeding interventions

  • Meal refusal management: If a dog skips three or more consecutive meals, intervention may include pediatric electrolytes to maintain hydration and prevent lethargy or vomiting, or handmade fresh/wet food toppers. Fee: $5-$20/day; complex care protocols may exceed $10/day.
  • Exemption: No charge if the owner explicitly instructs us to follow the original feeding directions without intervention. The owner assumes all health risks.
  • Daycare-provided meals: If the owner does not provide sufficient food and daycare must supply meals, the recipe is handmade digestive-support meatballs, chicken:vegetable:rice = 5:4:1, mixed 3:7 with standard kibble. Fee: $10/day.

3. Health, grooming, and property damage

  • Emergency nail trimming: If nails obstruct movement or pose a safety risk. Fee: $10/session.
  • Basic dental scaling: If tartar build-up is affecting gum health, we may perform basic cleaning if the dog cooperates. Fee: $5-$20/session.
  • Property damage: Minor wear and tear is expected, but owners are responsible for severe damage to facilities or equipment. Compensation will be discussed based on the specific circumstances.
